One-Bowl Air Fryer Shrimp with Garlic and Lemon

Air fryer shrimp seasoned with garlic and lemon, served warm

These shrimp are made for busy evenings when you want something warm and satisfying without pulling out half the kitchen. Everything is seasoned in one bowl, cooked in one basket, and on the plate in minutes — clean flavors, minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 400 g / 14 oz raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, finely grated
  • Zest of ½ lemon
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

To finish

  • Lemon juice, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start with one bowl.
Place shrimp in a bowl. Add olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, paprika, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Toss with your hands until evenly coated.
  2. Let them sit briefly.
Rest for 5 minutes while the air fryer heats — this is enough for flavor without softening the shrimp.
  3. Cook in a single layer.
Transfer shrimp to the air fryer basket, spreading them out so hot air can circulate.
  4. Air fry fast.
Cook at 190°C / 375°F for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket once halfway through.
  5. Finish simply.
Squeeze over lemon juice, taste, and adjust seasoning. Serve immediately.

Optional Tips:

  • Swap paprika for curry powder or ground coriander
  • Swap lemon for lime
  • Swap olive oil for melted butter
  • Swap chili flakes for black pepper only
